Hello Middlebury community,

Welcome to the Middlebury Student Government Association (SGA) website. The SGA is the representative body of the students of Middlebury College. We serve the students and represent their best interests. We also provide an important forum of debate where student voices on issues as wide-ranging as perennial laundry and printer concerns to improving social life on campus to instituting a Pass/Fail system for classes.

Through its work, the SGA participates in the formulation of institutional policy on behalf of students. Furthermore, we collect and distribute the Student Activities Fee to over 150 student organizations on campus, oversee various student committees who help to implement initiatives passed by the Senate, and speak as the official student voice in communications with administration.

On a campus as student-driven and as full of bright and active young leaders as Middlebury’s, SGA has an important role to play as a laboratory for creative ideas and a tireless advocate in student intiatives that make Middlebury a better place.

As president for the 2013-2014 year, I am honored and excited to lead the SGA as we work to tackle various challenges and issues on campus. The elected SGA Senate holds open meetings every Sunday at 7:00 PM in the Crest Room. Members of the Middlebury community are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please explore our website - we hope to use it as a tool to keep you better informed and to ensure that we are accountable and transparent to those that we represent. If you have specific questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or my team at sga@middlebury.edu.

Cheers for a fantastic year,

Rachel Liddell
